FAQ

Portrait Sessions

Do you travel outside of South Carolina?

Yes! It is a dream of mine to travel one day. I have a bucket list of places I want to shoot one day and if your location is on it, I may be willing to work out a deal! Otherwise, travel fees will apply.

Can we schedule a consultation or phone call before booking?

Absolutely! I actually encourage an opportunity for us to connect prior to booking!

Do you have locations you use already?

Yes I can! I have built up quite a list of places to shoot. Once you book and we discuss the vision I will share with you some locations I think would work! I am always seeking new places to shoot as well.

What if the weather is bad on the day of our shoot?

Bad weather doesn't deter me usually. However, if it is unsafe for us or for my gear, we will reschedule.

What should I wear?

This will be unique to every client. Part of planning our session will include discussing the best attire!

What if you are sick the day of our session or at a birth?

In the case I am sick or attending a birth, I will be responsible for informing you and providing a backup photographer or rescheduling. That photographer will only take the photos and I will be responsible for editing and delivering still. I do try to inform you if your booking falls during my on-call time so that we can have a back-up date scheduled.

Is nudity required for your sessions?

No! Nudity does end up being a big part of my photography, but it is never required.

Do you shoot indoors or in studios?

Rarely. I rely on natural lighting, so I am only comfortable shooting indoors if there are lots of windows.

Do you offer payment plans?

I do! I offer payment pathways. We can discuss your options during your consultation.

Birth FAQ

Do you travel for births?

This is a possibility but can be risky depending on the distance. Feel free to shoot me a message to ask!

What if you miss my birth?

There are only a few situations that would cause me to miss your birth. In the case of a quick birth, I will still arrive as soon as I can and capture all of the moments after your little one’s arrival. In some cases, I may offer an embodiment session for you in the future. In the case of inadequate communication, I will arrive as soon as possible and depending on the unique situation, I may also offer an embodiment session. There will be no refunds since birth can be so unpredictable.

What if you are sick or unable to attend the day of my birth?

In the case I am sick (or one of my children are sick) or attending another birth (which I typically try not to overlap bookings of births), I will be responsible for informing you and providing a backup photographer. That photographer will only take the photos and I will be responsible for editing and delivering still.

What if I'm modest?

This is absolutely ok and shouldn’t hold you back from having your birth documented. There are a variety of ways to capture big moments while keeping it modest. This is a topic we will discuss in our consultation.

How does lighting work?

This is a subject that we will discuss at our consultation. But typically I try to capture the environment as it truly is. I have used flash in the past, but I found that it can be very distracting, as well as take away from the mood of the photos. All I need is the smallest amount of light. From a hallway, twinkle lights etc. The lower the lighting, the more noisy a photo will be. However, I love the feel that the noise gives.
